Unisphere for PowerMax - What's New

Unisphere for PowerMax enables the user to configure and manage PowerMax, VMAX All Flash, and VMAX storage systems.

Unisphere for PowerMax is a HTML5 web-based application that allows you to configure and manage PowerMax, VMAX All Flash, and VMAX storage systems. See Overview of Unisphere for PowerMax for an overview of the applications and functionality of Unisphere for PowerMax.

The following table describes the user interface impacting features that are introduced in Unisphere for PowerMax in release 10.2.0. For information about all the new features in this release, see the Unisphere for PowerMax Release Notes.

Monitor and Report on the Power usage of the Array and a subset of its components This feature supports the gathering and reporting of the power being consumed and the heat that is generated by the array. This enables adherence to regulations for monitoring and appropriate planning in the customer data center (see System (Array) Metrics).
Phase 2 - Reverse replicate to Metro array from DR for Smart DR. This feature supports the swap between the Asynchronous DR leg of SRDF/Metro and R1 or R2 of Metro pair in a Smart DR environment (see Establish a session in a SRDF/Metro Smart DR Reverse Replicate environment).
Customer visible display of compression type This feature supports the display of the compression type (see View Storage System details ).
Autonomous, self-healing SRDF/A The feature, Autonomous self-healing for SRDF/A, removes the need for manual intervention when SRDF/A drops due to cache limitations due to a temporary increase in workload or a decrease in SRDF throughput (see Enable autonomous self-healing for SRDF/A and Disable autonomous self-healing for SRDF/A).
Intelligent Thresholds - insightful direction This feature analyzes historical trends of performance metrics and system capability and uses the data to help to set appropriate thresholds that highlight real issues but do not generate unnecessary noise (see View Performance thresholds and alerts).
Support Authentication Verification Entity (AVE) on NVMeoF TCP This feature supports the configuration of Authentication Verification Entities (AVEs), which are a scalable authentication mechanism for provisioning secrets between a NVMe host and the NVMe subsystem (see Managing Authentication Verification Entities (AVEs)).
Develop an Infrastructure to Provision Secure Secrets that is not Vulnerable to MITM Attacks This feature introduces a secure provisioning restriction setting, which ensures that the relevant APIs can be run only on an embedded guest, and against a local storage system (see Configuring NVMe secure provisioning restrictions).
SFPs to be CRU. This feature supports the capability for customers to replace SFPs without a CE dispatch (see Replace faulted SFP).
PowerMax vVols support for VASA 5.0 This feature provides PowerMax vVols support for VASA 5.0 (see View serviceability VASA virtual hosts).
One Click Update Phase 2 This feature supports the upgrade of the OS in addition to the application packages (see View OS and embedded application updates).
Cloud support removal This feature supports the removal of cloud support.
AIOps - Predictive and Prescriptive Remediations for Planning This feature provides an overall view of a storage group's replication status. This view provides a visual and interactive means of monitoring the replication from the viewpoint of an application. The focus is on providing users with information about each SRDF storage group (storage group and its configured replication solution) so that they can make informed decisions more quickly and without the need to collate information from throughout Unisphere for PowerMax (see Manage SRDF storage groups, Protect storage groups using SRDF, Protect storage groups using SRDF/Metro, and Create a SRDF/Metro Smart DR environment).
File Networking/Subnet enhancement This feature simplifies the workflow by eliminating the port level configuration so that subnets can be set directly at the File interface creation stage (see Create or modify file interfaces).
Delineation of Total Response Time into Array Internal and Array External Response Time This feature supports the delineation of Total Response Time into Array Internal and Array External Response Time (see System (Array) Metrics).
Provide zHyperLink (zHL) emulation threads % busy This feature supports zHyperLink (zHL) emulation threads % busy (see zHyperlink Mailbox metrics).
MFA YubiKey This feature supports MFA YubiKey (see View and manage YubiKey Device ID mapping and Configure authentication authorities).
